Privacy policy

PixieFaces ("we", "us") provides face recognition for photo galleries hosted on Pixieset. This policy explains what we process, why, and for how long. Questions: yam@pixiefaces.com.

What we process

Gallery photos

When a gallery owner adds a Pixieset gallery link, we read the gallery's photos to detect faces. We do not keep copies of the full photos. We keep only:

  • Face data: numerical face representations ("embeddings") used to group photos by person;
  • Small face thumbnails used to show each person's album; and
  • Low-resolution previews and links to the original photos on Pixieset.

Face data is biometric data. We use it only to build and show the albums for that gallery. We do not use it to identify anyone by name, to train models, or for any other gallery.

Selfies

If a guest chooses to find their album with a selfie or an uploaded photo, it is used once to match against that gallery's faces. It is not saved to disk and not logged. Only the match result is used.

Account and contact information

If you create an account or contact us, we keep your name, email address and the messages you send, so we can provide the service and reply to you.

Website analytics

This website uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views. It does not track you across sites.

How long we keep it

  • Gallery data (face data, thumbnails, previews) is deleted automatically 30 days after the gallery is processed.
  • A gallery owner can delete a gallery at any time, which removes its data immediately.
  • Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your request.

Who controls the photos

The person who adds a gallery (usually the couple or the photographer) is responsible for having the right to process it and for sharing the album link with their guests. They can hide individual albums, or enable a mode where guests only see their own album after a selfie match.

Sharing

We don't sell or rent personal data. We use service providers to run the service: cloud hosting and storage, and cloud computing for face recognition. They process data only on our instructions.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, including asking to be removed from a gallery you appear in. Email yam@pixiefaces.com with the gallery link, and we'll act on it promptly.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
