The basics
What is PixieFaces?
PixieFaces adds face recognition to Pixieset galleries. You paste a gallery link, and it sorts the photos into one album per person. Guests then tap their face, or take a selfie, to see every photo they're in.
Can I find all photos of one person in a Pixieset gallery?
Yes, that's exactly what PixieFaces does. Each person in the gallery gets an album with every photo their face appears in, so you don't have to scroll through the whole gallery.
Does Pixieset have face recognition built in?
Pixieset's feature set changes over time, so check their current plans. PixieFaces works with any Pixieset gallery link, whichever plan the photographer uses, and adds selfie search and per-person albums on top.
Do I need to download or upload the photos?
No. You only paste the gallery link. There's nothing to export and nothing to install.
Is PixieFaces part of Pixieset?
No. PixieFaces is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Pixieset. It works with the gallery link you already have.
Galleries & results
Does it work with password-protected or private galleries?
Yes. Galleries that need a client or guest access code, a download PIN, or an email address to enter are supported. You provide the code once when adding the gallery.
How long does it take?
A typical wedding gallery is ready within minutes of pasting the link.
How big can a gallery be?
PixieFaces is built for full wedding galleries, including ones with thousands of photos.
How accurate is it?
Very accurate for clear faces. Faces that are tiny, blurred, in profile or partly hidden are harder for any face recognition system. If two similar-looking people end up in one album, you can split them in a click, and you can hide any album you don't want shown.
Can guests download their photos?
Yes. Guests can download the photos in their album. If the gallery uses a download PIN, add it when setting up the gallery and guests get full-resolution files.
Do guests need an app or an account?
No. Guests open a link in any phone or desktop browser. Nothing to install, no sign-up.
Privacy
Do you store the photos?
Full photos are not copied. PixieFaces keeps face data, small face thumbnails and low-resolution previews, which is only what's needed to show the albums. This data is deleted automatically after 30 days, or sooner if you ask.
What happens to my selfie?
Your selfie is used once to find your album and is not saved or logged.
Can I hide people or albums?
Yes. The gallery owner can hide any album. There's also a privacy mode where no albums are shown at all until a guest finds their own album with a selfie.
Can I delete my gallery?
Yes. Gallery owners can delete a gallery at any time, and all data is removed automatically after 30 days anyway. You can also email yam@pixiefaces.com to request deletion.
